Mole Assessment Service
Description
Unsure whether a mole is suitable for cosmetic removal? At JTMedical, we work in partnership with Map My Mole, a leading teledermatology service that provides access to consultant dermatologist reviews without the need to initially attend a hospital or GP appointment.
Using specialist dermatoscopic photography, we capture high-quality images of your mole during your appointment. These images are then securely submitted to the Map My Mole platform, where they are reviewed by a UK consultant dermatologist.
Map My Mole provides a fast and convenient way of obtaining expert advice, giving you greater reassurance before proceeding with any cosmetic treatment.
Following review, the consultant dermatologist may advise one of the following:
* The mole appears benign and is suitable for cosmetic removal.
* A face-to-face assessment with a healthcare professional or dermatologist is recommended.
* The mole demonstrates suspicious features and requires urgent investigation for possible skin cancer.
Prices
Mole Mapping Service
- Initial mole assessment – £60
- Additional moles (same appointment) – £25 each
This service is available for moles only and is designed to support safe clinical decision-making. Please note that JTMedical does not diagnose moles; all clinical opinions are provided independently by the reviewing consultant dermatologist via Map My Mole.
If a mole is deemed suitable for cosmetic removal, treatment options can then be discussed. If further investigation is recommended, we will advise you on the next appropriate steps and provide you with a copy of the dermatologist’s report.
Early assessment of changing or unusual moles is important. If you have noticed changes in a mole’s size, shape, colour, border, or if it has become itchy, painful, or started bleeding, we would encourage you to arrange an assessment promptly.
